King's Lynn Town's trip to Gloucester City was postponed at the 11th hour tonight due to a waterlogged pitch.
After making the 140-mile trip down to the Jubilee Stadium, the club arrived at the stadium and quickly checked the surface before the referee swiftly called the game off.
The Linnets had been looking to extend their lead at the top of the table after their nearest title rivals, York City, lost 3-1 at Boston United on Saturday.
Lynn owner Stephen Cleeve added: "It could be dangerous. But you have got to ask questions as to why the game wasn't called off at 2pm.
"Apparently, the pitch inspection today was 10.30am instead of 12 o'clock. At 10.30am it was playable, 12 o'clock it rained, by 2pm it was unplayable and it should have been called off."
"It's not fair on the lads really because they have taken the day off and it has gone a little bit flat."
Lynn's next scheduled fixture is at home to Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.
