The Linnets are on their travels on Saturday with a trip to Evesham’s Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium to take on Gloucester City in the Vanarama National League North.
The match signals the start of the busy Christmas spell that see’s four games in the space of ten days, including home and away derby’s with Boston United. It’s Gloucester though at the weekend who currently sit 15th in the league table. The two sides met at The Walks back in September when they shared four goals. Both of The Linnets goals coming from Adam Marriott, including a penalty.
Ian Culverhouse faces an anxious wait over player availability and will be without captain Michael Clunan , Ryan Fryatt and Chris Smith. Other injury doubts will be assessed on Saturday.
The Reserves play Norwich CBS in the Thurlow Nunn, Division One North at The Fenland Stadium Wisbech ( 3pm).
The club will announce over the weekend arrangements for Boston United’s visit to The Walks on Thursday 26th December. ‘We are , it goes without saying, expecting a very large crowd on Thursday’ said the club’s media officer Mark Hearle.
‘ There has been a very high uptake of tickets online which is an indicator to us of a large turnout. I will be meeting with our health & safety officer and box office manager on Saturday to discuss arrangements and see where we are with sales before we announce our arrangements on Sunday’ continued Hearle.
