Lynn Ladies continued their winning streak with this comprehensive ERWFL victory over East Bergholt in a game played at Kingsway on Sunday.
A bright Lynn start was capped by a goal inside the opening 10 minutes as Tiff Forshaw’s lay off picked out Becky Russell who produced a confident finish. The home teams dominance was confirmed on 20 minutes when a long Charlee Griffiths throw saw Forshaw produce a stunning half volley for the goal of the game. The visitors responded with a shot that struck the bar and Shanice Burch clearing the ball from her own line but it was Lynn who showed them how to finish as a powerful Emma Corbyn shot hit the net following good work from Forshaw and Russell. The ladies completed the half with another goal as Russell calmly converted from the spot following a handball, giving the host’s a four goal lead at the break.
Lynn’s total control of the game continued after the break with Forshaw being on hand to tap home from close range after the visiting keeper fumbled an initial shot. Corbyn completed the scoring after good work from Lily Porter for her second of the afternoon and her sixth goal in the last three matches.
This result puts the Ladies second in the league and well set for a championship tilt when the season resumes after the Christmas break.
