Lynn ladies got back to winning ways on Sunday with a fine league victory at East Bergholt. Following two defeats and a break due to the recent bad weather the ladies were looking to kick start their campaign and were given a further lift with the return of Charlee Griffith following a head injury.
Despite their recent lack of match action the ladies made a bright start as Becky Russell’s through ball picked out Nikita Morris who turned well before shooting just over the bar. The visiting possession was rewarded with a goal in the 26th minute. The move was began by keeper Ellie Prentice who picked out Griffith who then switched play to Lily Porter who made a probing run down the line before picking out Tiff Forshaw who cleverly beat a defender and turned the ball into the net. Jodie Morris spurned a chance to double the visitors advantage with her effort being just off target as Lynn continued to dominate the game. The second goal their play deserved duly arrived just on half time as Rachel Skinner pulled the ball back to Russell whose well driven shot hit the home net to complete good half for the visitors.
The second half saw the home team have much more of the possession without really troubling Lynn greatly. With that said Chloe Burch made a great block with her head to preserve the advantage. A change of formation saw East Bergholt pull a goal back with 16 minutes remaining with an effort that gave Prentice no chance. There were no further alarms for the visitors meaning a much needed 3 points had been secured giving the ladies a base to build from.
