King's Lynn Town's FA Cup dream came to a bitterly disappointing conclusion as lower-league outfit Nantwich Town triumphed at the Weaver Stadium.
Lynn's Northern Premier League hosts were good value for their place in Monday night's First Round Proper draw with an off-colour Walks' outfit second best for long periods of the tie.
The only goal of the game arrived seven minutes before the interval when Lynn failed to deal with a cross from the left and Troy Bourne stabbed the ball home at the far post.
Lynn's best chance of the tie fell to Natty Stewart a few minutes from the end when the substitute saw his effort tipped over the woodwork by Greg Hall after frontman Adam Marriott had struck the post in the first half.
Since the club was reformed, it was the third time in ten years that Lynn have fallen at the Fourth Qualifying Round hurdle.
Lynn: Street, Jones, Fox (Richards 55), Payne (Carey 55), Barrows, McAuley, Clunan, Kelly, Gash, Marriott, Henderson (Stewart 74). Unused subs: Bastock, Gilbert, Taylor.
