King’s Lynn Town return to the Emirates FA Cup trail on Saturday with a visit to Northern Premier League, Division One South East League leaders Leek Town (3pm). The host’s play at step four, two levels below The Linnets with the visitors, on paper at least , appearing favourites to progress to Monday’s fourth and final qualifying round draw. However the FA Cup is a renowned leveller of teams and a look across the previous rounds results show that in reality Town can expect a difficult afternoon at Harrison Park against a side flying high, just like themselves, in the league.
The Linnets have had a clear week following last weekend’s defeat at National League North leaders York City , allowing Manager Ian Culverhouse some time on the training pitch with his team. Both Ryan Jarvis and Ryan Fryatt appear the most doubtful to feature at the weekend. Jarvis was withdrawn at York as a precaution with a groin problem and Fryatt missed that match with a knee injury sustained in the Alfreton FA Cup replay.
The winners of Saturday’s tie will receive £11, 250 in prize money and a place in Monday’s fourth qualifying round draw.
If the match end all square the replay will take place at The Walks on Tuesday October 8th with a 7:45pm kick off.
Lynn Reserves have a Norfolk derby in the Thurlow Nunn, Division One North with a game at Great Yarmouth Town (3pm KO).
On Sunday Lynn Ladies host Needham Market Ladies in a ERWFL fixture at River Lane (2pm KO)
