Linnets face tough assignment at York City

September 27, 2019

The Linnets face possibly one of their toughest assignments of the season at the weekend with a trip to Vanarama National League North leaders York City (3pm).
The Bootham Crescent outfit are unbeaten in the league in 11 games and are one of the few full-time teams in the division.
Lynn, however, will travel in good heart themselves having suffered just one defeat in their own opening set of league fixtures and having secured a place in the next qualifying round of the FA Cup following Tuesday evening’s 2-1 replay win over Alfreton Town.
Striker Michael Gash missed Tuesday’s action following an ankle injury collected in the original cup fixture last weekend.
He has been receiving treatment ever since and a decision on his fitness will be made on the day.
Long-term absentee Harry Limb is likely again to miss out from manager Ian Culverhouse’s match day squad.
The reserves will be looking to collect some more Thurlow Nunn League points when Ipswich Wanderers visit the Elgoods Stadium in a Division One North encounter on Saturday.
Neil Fryatt’s team collected a superb 6-3 win at Sheringham last weekend but suffered a 4-1 league cup reverse to Thetford Town in the week.
Lynn Ladies will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointment of their FA Cup exit last weekend when they entertain Newmarket Ladies at River Lane on Sunday (2pm) in the ERWFL.
