Tiffany Forshaw netted four times as Lynn Ladies continued their pre-season with a 5-2 win over a Cambridge United development team on Sunday.
A slow start saw the ladies go a goal down early on but got themselves back on level terms with a Becky Russell strike and shortly after took the lead after Forshaw got on the end of a quick Lynn counter-attack.
Emma Corbyn then had an effort ruled out for offside which would have put the visitors further ahead.
Further salt was rubbed into the wounds as Cambridge equalised following a corner to make the scores level at the break.
Lynn started much better after the break and Oksana Imanalijeva’s pressing and subsequent pass picked out Forshaw who regained the lead for Lynn.
Cambridge enjoyed a good spell of pressure but found the visitors defence on good form.
Another passage of home pressure was broken up by Natalie Wright and Shanice Burch who combined to release Annie Rooks.
Rooks managed to get in behind the home defence and provide a centre for Forshaw to turn home for her treble.
Shortly afterwards, Forshaw made the game safe for Lynn with another confident finish.
The player-of-the-match award went to Shanice Burch for a solid defensive display.
King’s Lynn Town’s next friendly is away to Thorpe United on Sunday.
