Linnets exit the Norfolk Senior Cup against UEA

November 20, 2018

King's Lynn Town's Norfolk Senior Cup dream was ended by UEA at the Field of Dreams last night.
The Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Division One outfit progressed to the last eight after netting a scrappy effort from a corner 20 minutes into the second half.
It denied record-breaking goalkeeper and assistant manager Paul Bastock, making his Linnets debut, a clean sheet in his 1,278th competitive game between the posts.
Other than Bastock, the Linnets fielded a youthful side for the cup clash after making 11 changes from the one which beat Barwell 3-1 in the league on Saturday.
Jack Frowhawk was denied by an excellent save and Kyran Stannard and Frowhawk fired just wide in a goalless first half.
The closest Lynn came to finding an equaliser was when Frohawk saw his header cleared off the line with seven minutes remaining.
