King's Lynn Town's under-18 side travel to League Two Northampton Town in the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup tonight.
Lynn’s young guns are just two matches away from taking on the next generation of Premier League stars after enjoying a terrific run in the competition.
The Linnets travel to the PTS Academy Stadium having accounted for Framlingham Town, Brantham Athletic, Cambridge City and Dereham Town in the qualifying stages.
Northampton Town are currently unbeaten in their Academy League and are likely to provide Lynn with their sternest test yet.
Linnets media officer Mark Hearle said: “I’m sure it will be a very special and memorable evening for all concerned with the team. It will be a great experience for the lads to play in a football league stadium with all the facilities that go with that.
“The chairman has also laid on an executive coach of the type used by the first team for away fixtures ensuring that the team and management can all travel together and in comfort to a game that will be one of the biggest days that many of the team will be involved in.
“I also understand that a good few supporters will also be travelling to Northampton which will also add something special to the occasion.”
