Lynn under-18s progress in FA Youth Cup

King's Lynn Town U18s 2 Cambridge City U18s 0
King's Lynn Town under-18s progessed to the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night with a hard-fought victory over their counterparts from Cambridge City.
In what is a big week of cup football for the club, it took extra-time to separate the two sides at The Walks with little to choose between either team during a close tie.
An open encounter remained goalless after 90 minutes, but the turning point of the tie came when Aydin Duran saved a harshly-awarded Lilywhites penalty 13 minutes from time.
Both sides pushed forward in extra-time but the score still remained goalless going into the second period of the extra 30 minutes.
The deadlock was finally broken as penalties loomed when substitute Ben Welch slotted home an assured finish.
Lynn made sure of their passage into the next round a minute later after Joe Taylor doubled their advantage.
