Matchday eleven sees the Linnets return to the Docherty Walks for the first time in nearly a month as they take on Buxton.

Last time out for the Linnets was nearly two weeks ago, when they recorded a memorable five-nil thrashing of a struggling Telford side. It was an enthralling win which showed Paul Caddis’ Lynn side at their best.

With a weekend without a game, the players have continued training at high intensity while also focusing on much-needed recovery. Lynn have been in tremendous form, winning four of their last five games, but, as Paul Caddis mentioned in his post-match interview, having a swing in momentum over consecutive weekends has been a massive bonus.

Buxton come into this game with consecutive defeats under their belts, having played South Shields twice, once in the league and once in the FA Cup. The league fixture saw the Mariners put four past the Bucks on home turf, while in the FA Cup, they managed to knock the Bucks out at the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium by two goals to nil.

Both teams sit on sixteen points in the league table, separated only by the Linnets’ goal difference of plus five, compared to Buxton’s zero.

One of the most notable things about the Bucks this season is that, when you watch them, there is no shortage of goals. Thirteen goals scored in their last six matches is something to take confidence from going into this game. However, they have also conceded twelve goals in their last six games.

Sisa Tuntulwana is someone the Linnets’ defence will need to be wary of, as he has eight goals to his name in all competitions so far this season, putting him joint-second in the scoring charts.

Five wins, one draw and four losses round off the first ten games for the Bucks this campaign. Manager Jordan Broadbent will be content with his side’s start to the season but will be looking to improve even further.

Eight matches have taken place between Lynn and Buxton since the start of 2023, with Lynn taking four wins, Buxton taking two and the other two ending in draws. Most memorable was the last time these two sides met at the Docherty Walks: a fantastic night under the lights when Lynn battled back from two goals down to win three-two.

This game is set to be a brilliant one tomorrow afternoon and is definitely not to be missed.

We cannot wait to see you at the Docherty Walks tomorrow afternoon.

Up the Lynn!
