Young Linnets seasons start

Saturday morning saw the first Junior Premier League games for the newly formed Under 16 & Under 12 sides.

The U16’s travelled to Essex to take on Holland FC. Lynn struck the underside of the bar and had several half chances saved by the opposition keeper before the home side took the lead from close range. The 2nd half saw Lynn dominate possession but didn’t take their chances with Holland FC holding on for a 1-0 win. Despite the result a good team performance with plenty of positives to take forward.

At West Lynn the U12’s hosted Peterborough Sports. The home side took the lead before Sports hit back to lead 2-1. Five goals without reply for Lynn saw them win 6-2 in an entertaining game. The result will only give the side confidence going forward in what is a tough league.

Next games for the sides are this weekend with the U16’s hosting PBS at Kingsway and the U12’s travelling to face AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
